IBM and G&H Sign IT Infrastructure Services Contract

BANCOS banking software will in future be offered on the basis of IBM infrastructure solutions / Contract volume around €4.6 million.

Berlin/Stuttgart, May XY, 2009 – G&H Bankensoftware AG and IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced they have signed a four-year, €4.6 million information technology (IT) services contract. This infrastructure service agreement will enable G&H, the leading provider of modular IT solutions for the financial services sector in Germany, to offer its customers the BANCOS system platform.

On the BANCOS system platform G&H Bankensoftware provides customers around the globe with a wide range of innovative modern software packages. In addition to the BANCOS core banking system, the portfolio includes modules for all areas of banking business, such as loans, evaluation of collateral, investing cash, and securities. Over 70 financial service providers now use BANCOS products.

The portfolio of G&H services has now been joined by the complementary services that IBM has contributed to the partnership. They include in particular computing center services that are available around the world and a wide range of products and services. As an alternative to in-house installation that is easy on investment and resources, BANCOS is installed and operated at the IBM computing center, with all functionalities guaranteed. The software with its state-of-the-art security and high performance can be used via the Internet or a Java-based browser. From the outset G&H has worked with IBM products, and the company takes care in application development to ensure compatibility with IBM hard- and software solutions.

Frank Strecker, outsourcing solutions manager at IBM, says that “G&H’s innovative software solutions are in the future to be offered optionally as Software as a Service (SaaS). IBM’s SaaS partner program forms the basis of cooperation and ensures the successful development and marketing of BANCOS.”
